The Museum of Sexual Cultures of the World occupies ten exhibition rooms filled with objects, photographs, and educational materials from different regions and civilizations. The collection spans items from Greece, Rome, Japan, India, China, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
The museum was established in 1999, growing from a personal collection of cultural objects. Its roots trace back to the Department of Sexology at Kharkiv Medical Academy.
The exhibition shows objects and artworks from many cultures, revealing how different societies have understood sexuality and relationships across time. Visitors can see how these themes were expressed and lived out in different parts of the world.
The museum is open six days a week, allowing visitors to explore the entire collection at their own pace. Access is limited to adults over 18, though educational sessions are available for teenagers from age 15 and up.
The museum holds a specialized collection of objects from different eras that visitors rarely encounter in traditional exhibitions. These items tell stories about everyday life and personal aspects of cultures around the globe.
