Pałac w Młynowie, Classical palace complex in Mlyniv, Ukraine
Pałac w Młynowie is a classical palace complex in Mlyniv featuring surviving structures from its original layout. The ensemble includes a preserved classical outbuilding that now operates as a museum, along with two park pavilions from the original estate design.
Architect Leopold Szlegiel designed this residence for Ludwika Chodkiewiczowa between 1790 and 1791 as a classical composition. The main palace building was replaced by a school structure in the 1960s, leaving only ancillary buildings and park elements from the original ensemble.
The palace served as a residence for the prominent Chodkiewicz family, who gathered significant collections and documents there until the early 20th century. This gathering of wealth and knowledge made the estate a center of influence in the region.
The preserved outbuilding now houses a museum displaying exhibits related to regional history and the former palace estate. Visitors can explore the remaining structures and learn about the site's past through displayed materials.
Two park pavilions from the original design remain on the grounds and reveal how the estate landscape was once organized. These small structures offer clues about the scale and layout of what was once a much larger residential complex.
