Benton County covers 413 square miles of land with rolling hills, agricultural areas, and the Mississippi River flowing along its western border.
Established in 1849, Benton County was named after Missouri Senator Thomas Hart Benton, with Foley becoming the administrative center in 1897.
The county maintains multiple parks, walking trails, and recreational spaces, including a skateboard park, golf course, and municipal swimming pool.
Winter parking regulations prohibit street and alley parking between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM from November through March throughout Foley.
The county initiated a Facade Improvement Program offering matching grants to enhance the appearance and functionality of downtown business structures.
