Mission Santa Clara de Asís

Mission Santa Clara de Asís features a white facade with two bell towers and contains restored historical paintings inside its central nave.

Founded on January 12, 1777, by Franciscan missionaries, this mission moved locations five times due to floods and earthquakes before settling at its current site.

The mission bells ring every evening, continuing a tradition established when King Charles III of Spain donated the original bells in 1777.

The church holds regular Catholic services at 12:05 PM on weekdays and three masses on Sundays at 10 AM, 6 PM, and 9 PM.

Located within Santa Clara University campus, this mission remains the only California mission integrated into a university setting.
