Amicalola Falls State Park, State park in Dawsonville, United States

The park features the largest cascading waterfall in the southeastern United States, dropping 729 feet through multiple tiers of water streams.

The land belonged to Cherokee communities who named the falls Amicalola, meaning tumbling waters, before European settlers arrived in the region.

The park functions as the southern gateway to the Appalachian Trail, connecting hikers to a 2,200-mile path extending from Georgia to Maine.

The 829-acre park provides accommodations in a mountain lodge, camping areas, multiple hiking trails, and a visitor center with educational resources.

Wildlife observers can spot numerous bird species, white-tailed deer, and black bears across the park's diverse forest and field environments.
