Brookneal

Brookneal is a town in southeastern Campbell County, Virginia, situated along the Staunton River at a strategic crossing point. The settlement spreads across several square miles of land and water in this region.

The town began in 1802 when John Brooke and Sarah Neal Brooke established a tobacco warehouse that became the foundation for settlement. It was formally incorporated as a town in 1908.
