Red Hill Patrick Henry National Memorial

The Red Hill estate spans 1000 acres along the Staunton River, featuring reconstructed buildings, walking trails, and forests filled with native birds.

Patrick Henry, known for his liberty speech, purchased this plantation in 1794 and resided here with his family until his death in 1799.

The museum houses 3,000 artifacts, including documents, furniture, and personal items belonging to Patrick Henry, illustrating colonial American life.

The memorial opens Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM, with guided tours available at 1250 Red Hill Road.

The Quarter Place cemetery contains the remains of 147 enslaved individuals, representing one of Virginia's largest preserved burial grounds of its type.
