Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Medical university in The Bronx, United States.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine is a medical school in the Morris Park neighborhood of The Bronx, New York City. The campus covers around 29 acres and includes research laboratories, teaching buildings, and clinical training facilities for future physicians.
Leo M. Davidoff founded the school in 1955 as part of Yeshiva University. In 2015 it became independent and joined Montefiore Health System.
The school carries the physicist's name with the promise to admit applicants from all religious and ethnic backgrounds. This openness is reflected today in the composition of students, who come from many different communities.
The campus sits north of Pelham Parkway and can be reached by subway or bus via several lines. Visitors should note that access to most facilities is restricted to students, staff, and invited guests.
A donation from Dr. Ruth Gottesman made it possible to eliminate tuition fees for all enrolled students starting in 2024. This funding comes from a one-billion-dollar gift intended to ease access to medical education.
