Graceland University, Private university in Lamoni, United States.
Graceland University is a private institution in Lamoni in southern Iowa offering undergraduate and graduate programs across different fields. The campus covers around 170 acres (69 hectares) and includes residential buildings, teaching spaces, performing arts centers, and athletic facilities.
The institution was founded in 1895 as a college and received its accreditation in 1917, becoming the first fully accredited junior college in Iowa. It later expanded its offerings to a full university program with undergraduate and graduate degrees.
The campus integrates buildings reflecting elements of the Community of Christ tradition with modern facilities for study and student life. Residential houses organize social life outside the classroom and allow students to plan and run their own activities.
Visitors can explore the grounds on foot, with most buildings within short walking distance of each other. Campus events, particularly performances at the performing arts center, are often open to the public.
All graduates completing a four-year degree must finish a second focus in transformational leadership combining practical skills and personal development. This additional focus is integrated into the curriculum for every major.
