Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Dual theme and water park in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is a combined amusement and water park located in Sterlingworth, Pennsylvania. The site contains 64 rides spread across two connected sections, with eight roller coasters in the amusement area and 19 water attractions in the aquatic zone.
Solomon Dorney founded the site in 1860 as a trout hatchery and summer retreat along the Lehigh River. He opened the grounds to visitors with early rides ten years later, turning the location into a public leisure destination.
The complex hosts a themed section built around characters from the Peanuts comic strip, drawing families with younger children. During autumn months, the park transforms into a Halloween setting with decorated zones and evening entertainment that draws regular attendance from nearby communities.
A single entrance fee grants access to both the ride section and water section, with season passes offered for repeat visits. The water attractions operate during warmer months, while the amusement section maintains varying hours depending on the season.
The Steel Force roller coaster held the title of tallest and longest on the East Coast when it debuted in 1997. It reaches a height of around 205 feet (62 meters) and runs over a track spanning more than 1 mile (1.5 kilometers).
