Belle Mont, Plantation mansion in Tuscumbia, Alabama, US
Belle Mont features a raised two-story central section with one-story wings forming a U-shape design that creates a rear courtyard layout.
Built between 1828 and 1832 for Dr. Alexander Mitchell, the mansion was later sold to Isaac Winston in 1833, remaining in Winston family until 1941.
The mansion demonstrates Palladian architecture principles developed by Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, incorporating elements of Thomas Jefferson's design philosophy.
The mansion charges admission fees of $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and military personnel, $4 for children ages 6-18, while children under 6 enter free.
The red brick structure sits on a hilltop as one of the few remaining examples of Jeffersonian-style plantation houses in the Deep South.
