Belle Mont

The house was built between 1828 and 1832 for Dr. Alexander Mitchell and sold to Isaac Winston in 1833. The Winston family maintained ownership for over a century before the property changed hands in 1941.

The name Belle Mont translates to "beautiful mountain" and refers to the house's elevated location. Visitors can see today how the room layouts and furnishings reflect the lifestyle of wealthy families in the 1800s.
