Boyle Park, Municipal park in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Boyle Park is a 250-acre park in west Little Rock featuring natural woodlands, hiking trails, and recreation areas along Rock Creek. The grounds include three pavilions, two playgrounds, multiple walking paths, and a wildlife pond.
Dr. John F. Boyle donated the land to Little Rock in 1929, and the Civilian Conservation Corps developed it during the 1930s. The work from that era left lasting structures and paths that visitors still use today.
Eight stone structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps dot the park and show craftsmanship from the 1930s using materials from the surrounding area. These buildings reflect how workers shaped the land during that period.
The park is open year-round and works well for hiking, picnicking, and family visits with its playgrounds available. Wear sturdy shoes since trails pass through wooded terrain with natural surfaces.
The park's deed contains an unusual clause stating that ownership reverts to the Boyle family if the land ever stops being used for recreation. This legal condition is rare and shows how the original donor wanted to protect the land's future purpose.
