Braddock Point Light, Maritime navigation light in Monroe County, United States.
Braddock Point Light is a lighthouse with a red brick octagonal tower standing on the shore of Lake Ontario. The structure now operates as a bed and breakfast where visitors can stay within the maritime building and enjoy direct views of the lake.
The lighthouse was built in 1896 by the federal government to fill a navigation gap between two other lights on the lake. In 1895, the lantern section was transferred from an older Cleveland lighthouse and installed at this location.
The lighthouse reflects maritime navigation heritage with its adaptation from oil lamps to electric lights through the technological changes of the 1920s.
The building is open to overnight guests who can access various rooms with direct lake views. Since the site now serves as a functioning lodging, visitors should approach the property with respect for its residential use.
The lantern section of this lighthouse originated from an 1870s Cleveland lighthouse, transferred and installed at Braddock Point in 1895.
