Cary Library, Carnegie library in Houlton, United States.

The granite T-shaped building displays Colonial Revival architecture with a steeply pitched slate roof and prominent stone placarding on its central bay.

Dr. George Cary, a medical doctor and state legislator, provided the main bequest for the library, while Andrew Carnegie contributed 10,000 dollars in 1903.

The Cary Library maintains its original design by architect John Calvin Stevens and represents early 20th-century educational initiatives in Maine communities.

Located at 107 Main Street, the library received 73,248 visitors in 2017 and continues to provide reading materials and community services.

The structure features granite sills and lintels over banks of sash windows, with cornices decorated by detailed dentil stonework throughout the exterior.
