Centennial Lakes Park

Centennial Lakes Park is an urban park in Minnesota featuring three interconnected lakes, paved pathways, and recreational spaces spread across 24 acres. The layout includes areas for walking, water activities, and outdoor relaxation.

The park was created in the late 20th century on the site of a former gravel mining operation that was completely transformed. This conversion turned an abandoned extraction site into a multipurpose recreational space for the community.

The Hughes Pavilion serves as a gathering space where the community comes together for outdoor performances and events throughout the year.

The park offers seasonal activities that change throughout the year: ice skate rentals are available in winter while paddleboat rentals operate in summer. The park office can provide current information about conditions and what is available during your visit.

One of the lakes transforms with the seasons: visitors can paddle across it in summer, then skate on its frozen surface in winter. This dual use of the same water body creates different experiences depending on when you visit.
