Cormier Woods

Cormier Woods is a nature reserve covering several hundred acres of woodland, meadows, and fields with multiple interconnected trails throughout the Blackstone Valley landscape. The property also preserves an 18th-century farm complex that remains standing alongside the many pathways.

The area served as a center of farm life in New England over centuries, with settlements and agriculture that shaped the land. The preserved 18th-century farm buildings are remnants of this heavily used past.

Stone walls and old cellar holes scattered across the property show how people lived and farmed here over several centuries. These marks tell the story of different generations who shaped and used this land for their livelihood.

The main entrance to the reserve is located on Chapin Street in Uxbridge, where visitors can begin their hikes. The trails are walkable year-round, with winter offering especially good conditions for skiers.

Tall white pine groves reach heights around 100 feet and create habitat for various bird species like warblers and bluebirds. These mature trees form a dense canopy that creates different environments from shaded woodlands to open fields.
