Dole-Little House

The Dole-Little House is an early 18th-century residential building in Newbury with traditional colonial design features. The structure contains two primary rooms with a central chimney and exposed wooden beams that run through the lower floor.

Richard Dole built this house in 1715, incorporating materials from an earlier structure dating to the 1670s. This reuse of materials reflects how early settlers conserved resources and carried forward building traditions.

The house displays original colonial carpentry techniques through its structural elements and detailing. These craftsmanship features help visitors understand how builders of that era approached construction and design.
