Newburyport Public Library

The Newburyport Public Library is located at 94 State Street in a renovated 18th-century Federalist mansion with a modern addition. The building houses roughly 100,000 books across various reading and work areas.

The library was founded in 1854 and opened in 1855 at City Hall with roughly 5,750 books. It later relocated to its current building, a historic mansion with strong roots in the town's past.
