Rosa Roja de Paita, Steel sculpture near National Pantheon, Caracas, Venezuela.
The Rosa Roja de Paita stands 14 meters tall and features a red rose design made entirely of weathering steel materials.
The sculpture was completed in 2012 and inaugurated in 2013 as part of a complex dedicated to Manuela Saenz, Simon Bolivar's companion.
The sculpture takes its name from a Pablo Neruda verse about Manuela Saenz, connecting Venezuelan independence history with Latin American poetry.
Located next to the Liberator Simon Bolivar Mausoleum in western Caracas, the monument is accessible through the Libertador Municipality.
Architect Domenico Silvestro, recipient of the National Architecture Prize, designed this steel rose as a tribute to a historical figure.
