Teatro Ayacucho

Teatro Ayacucho is a former movie palace in central Caracas distinguished by ornamental Baroque architectural elements and classical proportions. The building has been adapted to house a shopping center with dining venues, though two cinema screens remain in what was once the gallery level.

The venue opened in 1925 as Caracas's first dedicated movie theater, designed by an architect who also created the city's famous Nuevo Circo. This marked the introduction of cinema as a major entertainment medium in the capital.
