The Palacio de las Academias stands on Avenida Universidad with forty bays across its facade and a central clock tower reaching 35 meters high.
Initially constructed as a Franciscan convent in 1684, the building underwent major renovations in 1876 when its colonial facade was transformed into Neo-Gothic architecture.
The palace currently houses six national academies of Venezuela, including the Academy of History and the Venezuelan Academy of Language, fostering intellectual development.
Visitors can reach the palace through the Capitolio/El Silencio metro station, with the entrance located at the intersection of Avenida Universidad and La Bolsa.
The building's paraninfo auditorium contains portraits and busts of significant Venezuelan historical figures, including Simón Bolivar and Archbishop Francisco de Ibarra.
