Haus Wittgenstein

The three-story building features clean lines, high ceilings, precise proportions, and minimalist interiors with light ochre walls and dark stone floors.

Margaret Stonborough-Wittgenstein commissioned architect Paul Engelmann to design the house in 1925, with her brother Ludwig Wittgenstein later taking control of the project.

The structure represents the intersection of architectural design and philosophical principles, reflecting Ludwig Wittgenstein's mathematical approach to proportions and symmetry.

Since 1975, the building has served as the cultural department of the Bulgarian Embassy, maintaining its architectural integrity while fulfilling diplomatic functions.

Every detail, from door handles to radiators, underwent meticulous engineering by Ludwig Wittgenstein, who raised entire ceilings by three centimeters for exact proportions.
