Giggijochbahn, Gondola lift in Sölden, Austria
The Giggijochbahn aerial lift spans 2648 meters, connecting a base station at 1362 meters to a summit station at 2283 meters in the Ötztal Alps.
Built in 2016 by Doppelmayr company, this modern gondola replaced the previous 1998 installation to meet increased transportation requirements in the Sölden ski area.
The lift serves as an essential connection point for winter sports enthusiasts and summer visitors exploring the mountain trails of the Tyrol region.
Operating at 6.5 meters per second, the gondola system transports 4500 passengers per hour with a journey duration of seven minutes and thirty seconds.
The Giggijochbahn provides access to numerous hiking paths and mountain bike trails, with the summit offering clear views across multiple Alpine peaks.
