Saile, Mountain summit in Tyrol, Austria
Saile, also called Nockspitze, is a mountain in the Kalkkögel range accessible by a marked hiking route. The slope features exposed rock faces and steep sections that demand careful footing during the climb.
The trails around Saile were used by early settlers to cross between Stubai Alps valleys. These routes connected mountain communities and enabled trade and contact across the region.
The mountain forms an essential part of the Tyrolean outdoor recreation landscape, with regular gatherings of hiking groups at its characteristic peak.
The hike begins at the Axamer Lizum parking area, and the route is easy to follow in fair weather. A chairlift at Birgitzköpfl operates during summer to help reduce climbing effort.
From the summit, neighboring peaks like Zwölferspitze and Pfriemeswand are visible and many hikers link them into a longer loop. The views extend to the Karwendel Mountains and Inntal Valley, creating a wide panorama.
