Hangspitze is a summit in Bregenzerwald that rises to 1746 meters above sea level and is defined by limestone rock formations. Dense forests and alpine meadows alternate along the climbing routes.
The mountain has been climbed for generations by Austrian mountaineers who established multiple routes from the valleys below. These traditional paths remain in use and are regularly followed today.

Hikers reach this summit via well-marked paths from Mellau, with the route taking about six hours and requiring sturdy footwear. Good weather and proper equipment are important for the climb.
From here you can see Lake Constance and several connected peaks, while protected sycamore trees line the climbing paths. These uncommon trees make the route botanically interesting.
