Mellaubahn, Aerial lift in Vorarlberg, Austria
The Mellaubahn transports passengers in modern 10-seat gondolas, covering the distance to the mountain station in just six minutes through the Bregenzerwald region.
The cable car system was constructed to enhance mountain accessibility in the Bregenzerwald area, transforming Mellau into a recreational destination for winter sports.
The cable car stations display regional architectural elements through their timber facades, reflecting the traditional building methods of Vorarlberg.
The lift operates daily from June to October, with services running from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekends and scheduled breaks during weekday afternoons.
From the Roßstelle mountain station, visitors can access trails leading to the Kanisfluh massif, where local ibex populations roam the mountain slopes.
