Hexenseehütte, Mountain hut at 2588 meters in Serfaus, Austria
Hexenseehütte is a mountain hut at 2588 meters located beside a red ski slope, offering self-service dining with both indoor seating and outdoor terrace space. The facility accommodates 22 guests overnight and serves food and drinks throughout the day.
The hut was originally built in 1974, suffered a major fire in 1994, and was rebuilt two years later on the same site. In 2011 the building underwent renovations and expansions to serve more visitors.
The hut reflects mountain traditions through regional Tyrolean cooking and the hospitality that visitors experience when sharing a meal at this elevation. People gather here to refuel during their mountain days and connect over the landscape around them.
The hut operates seasonally from December through April and June through September, serving food and drinks from 09:30 to 15:30. Plan your visit around these hours and the mountain weather, which changes quickly at this altitude.
The Sunrise Hexensee program pairs an early morning ascent before dawn with breakfast served at altitude, an experience many visitors overlook. This allows guests to experience the mountains in quiet before the hut becomes busy.
