Grodno Zoo

Grodno Zoo is a facility with multiple sections that house a wide variety of animals collected from different parts of the world. The enclosures are designed to resemble the natural environments where these creatures typically live.

The first zoo in Belarus was founded in 1927 and started with local animal species from the region. World War II destroyed the facility, but it was later rebuilt and reopened in 1946.

The zoo provides a space where visitors encounter animals from around the world and learn about their natural habitats through direct observation. The enclosures reflect where these creatures live in the wild.

The grounds are accessible on foot with relatively flat paths throughout the site. Wear sturdy shoes and come prepared for the weather based on the season.

The zoo houses several rare and endangered species that are seldom seen elsewhere in the region. This collection draws visitors interested in discovering animals they would struggle to encounter in the wild.
