Zanata Stone, Archaeological stone artifact in Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain.

The Zanata Stone features a carved fish shape on basalt stone with Libyco-Berber alphabetic inscriptions reading ZNT on its main surface.

The stone was discovered in 1992 near Montaña de Las Flores in El Tanque municipality, within a dry stone circle on volcanic terrain.

Red coating remains on the stone surface indicate it might have been painted, connecting it to ancient Guanche practices in the Canary Islands.

Visitors can examine the Zanata Stone on the first floor of the Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre in the Tenerife Archaeology section.

The inscription ZNT corresponds to the ethnonym Zanata or Zenete, sparking discussions about early Canary Islands settlement patterns.
