Sala hipòstila, Modernist hall in La Salut, Barcelona, Spain
The Hypostyle Room contains 86 striated columns with sloping outer columns that form a grand covered space under a mosaic-decorated ceiling.
Built in 1900, the room represents Antoni Gaudi's architectural vision within Park Güell, initially planned as a marketplace for the residential development.
The ceiling features traditional clay brick domes with mosaic decorations by Josep Maria Jujol, demonstrating the Catalan Modernist design principles.
The hall measures 465 square meters and accommodates up to 300 people for events, with direct access from the main entrance stairway.
The structure includes an integrated water system where rainwater flows through the bench to an underground tank, exiting through a dragon sculpture.
