San Juan de Aznalfarache, Municipality in Seville Province, Spain

San Juan de Aznalfarache sits on the western bank of the Guadalquivir River, facing Seville, at roughly 8 meters above sea level. It extends along the riverbank and serves as a residential area within the greater Seville metropolitan area.

The town grew from the ancient Turdetani settlement called Osset and gained an 11th-century palace under Al-Mu'tamid ibn Abbad's rule. This early foundation and medieval stronghold shaped what the place became.

The Sagrado Corazón monument sits where an old fortress once stood, preserving sections of medieval Almohad walls. The site shows how spiritual and historical layers blend into the town's appearance.

The area connects well to central Seville through two metro stations and multiple bus lines. Visitors can easily move between the city and this western riverside location.

The Pasaje de la Marina is a small street lined with flowerpots and lemon trees that opens to panoramic river views. This leafy passage offers a quiet contrast to the surrounding streets.
