Ermita de Santa Ana, Hermitage church in Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain
The Ermita de Santa Ana features a polygonal portico with eight equal sides and three semi-circular arches on each facade beneath a hemispherical dome.
The construction of this religious structure began in 1772 under architect Torcuato Cayón de la Vega, replacing a windmill that previously stood at this location.
The interior contains a sculpture by Genoese artist Domingo Giscardi depicting Saint Anne holding the Virgin Mary on a small altar near the entrance.
The hermitage opens its doors to visitors every Tuesday throughout the year and welcomes additional guests during the feast of Santa Ana on July 26.
From its hilltop position, the hermitage provides views extending across the city of Chiclana and stretches toward the bay of Cádiz.
