Sant Marçal de Montseny

The stone church contains a circular apse, barrel vault ceiling, and wide bell gable tower, displaying traditional Romanesque architectural elements throughout its structure.

The church was first documented in 1053, founded by the Umbert family, and consecrated in 1066 before undergoing a second consecration in 1104 after a period of abandonment.

The church maintains the tradition of hosting an annual village gathering on Easter Monday, connecting the local community through religious and social celebrations.

The building stands at 1093 meters elevation, accessible through multiple hiking trails within the Montseny natural park, with a restaurant located in the former priory house.

Near the chapel sits the Three Bishops Table, where the dioceses of Terrassa, Vic, and Girona met, allowing bishops to deliberate while remaining in their jurisdictions.
