Sant Marçal de Montseny, Romanesque church in Montseny, Spain.

Sant Marçal de Montseny is a stone church standing at about 1093 meters elevation with classic Romanesque features including a circular apse, barrel vault ceiling, and a wide bell gable tower. The building displays traditional architectural elements characteristic of churches from this period.

The chapel was first documented in 1053 and founded by the Umbert family, receiving its initial consecration in 1066. After a period of abandonment, it underwent a second consecration in 1104.

The chapel served as a gathering place for nearby communities who came together for celebrations and community events. Today you can still feel its importance to local people as a center where they meet.

The chapel is accessible through several hiking trails of varying difficulty within the Montseny natural park. A restaurant operates in the former priory building next to the church where visitors can rest and eat.

Near the chapel stands the Three Bishops Table, where the bishops of the dioceses of Terrassa, Vic, and Girona would meet. This location allowed the clergy to consult with one another while remaining within their own jurisdictions.
