Tíncer, Residential district in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain
Tíncer is a residential district in Santa Cruz de Tenerife situated on a slope at 326 meters elevation, roughly 8 kilometers southwest of the city center. The area combines apartment buildings with green spaces and is reached by several roads that connect it to the rest of the city.
The district began in the 19th century as a small village within El Rosario municipality and was incorporated into Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1972 for city expansion. This change transformed the place from a rural hamlet into a modern residential area.
The neighborhood celebrates its patron saints with festivals in April and May, where the Paseo Romero procession holds an important place in local traditions. These celebrations shape community life and show how residents keep their customs alive.
The district is best reached via main roads from the southwest, and tram line 2 connects it directly to the center. Service runs frequently outside peak hours, which keeps waiting times short.
The district is home to the Tenerife Island Athletics Center, a major sports facility that draws athletes from different Canary Islands. This facility makes the area an important hub for sports and training in the region.
