El Bobar

El Bobar is a coastal natural area in Almería with a beach stretching for about 1300 meters of dark sand. The zone is surrounded by extensive greenhouse agriculture that reaches close to the water's edge and offers basic amenities.

After the Spanish Reconquista, a watchtower equipped with two cannons was built here until it was removed in 1875. This fortification was part of the coastal defense strategy for the region during that era.

Greenhouses dominate the landscape around the coastal zone, reflecting how farming has shaped daily life in this region for many generations. The white plastic structures are as much a part of the environment as the shoreline itself.

The beach is accessible through simple paths and the facilities on site are minimal. The nearest major medical services are located several kilometers away, so visitors should plan accordingly for amenities.
