Feria de Puerto Real, Spring festival in Puerto Real, Spain
Feria de Puerto Real is a spring festival held from late May to early June at the Las Canteras Enclosure, surrounded by tall pine trees. The natural forest provides shade across the fairgrounds and creates a pleasant setting for celebrations.
The festival began in 1843 as a livestock market and remains one of the oldest annual events in the Andalusia region. Over time, it grew from a trading market into a major cultural celebration.
The fairgrounds host many casetas where visitors can experience flamenco dancing, live Andalusian music, and taste regional dishes that reflect local food traditions.
All marquees remain open to visitors until 5 AM, with the final day concluding at 1 AM. Comfortable footwear and sun protection are recommended, though the pine forest offers natural shade throughout the grounds.
The celebration mixes modern rides and games with the natural pine forest environment, creating an unusual setting compared to typical fairs. This combination of entertainment and woodland surroundings gives the event its distinctive character.
