Museo de la Siderurgia y la Minería de Castilla y León, Mining and iron industry museum in Sabero, Spain
The museum occupies the Ferrería de San Blas building, featuring permanent exhibitions about mining operations and iron production techniques in Castilla y León.
The museum building, constructed between 1846 and 1847, was Spain's first industrial facility to use coke in iron production processes.
The exhibition spaces present the evolution of human settlements in the valley, from Celtic populations through medieval times to industrial development.
Located at Plaza San Blas 1 in Sabero, the museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM in summer months.
The museum maintains original machinery from the old ironworks, accompanied by interactive models demonstrating mining and iron production methods.
