Parc Central de Nou Barris, Public park in La Guineueta, Spain.
Parc Central de Nou Barris is a large park in a residential neighborhood with pathways, ponds, grassy areas, and scattered tree clusters throughout the grounds. The site includes designated zones for children's activities, dog walking areas, ping-pong tables, and numerous benches for resting.
The site housed the Santa Creu Mental Institute until 1986, when it was converted into a public recreational area. The park then opened to the public in 1999.
The park serves as a gathering place where residents come together to spend time outdoors and share everyday moments. On weekends, families picnic beneath the trees and groups gather on open areas to play and socialize.
The park is walkable with broad, level pathways that are easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs. Seek shade under the trees during warm days and use the many benches throughout as reference points when moving around.
The grounds are crossed by a historic aqueduct that once carried water from the hills to Barcelona. Today you can walk across this former water conduit bridge and learn about the city's old infrastructure.
