Parc Central de Nou Barris is a large park in a residential neighborhood with pathways, ponds, grassy areas, and scattered tree clusters throughout the grounds. The site includes designated zones for children's activities, dog walking areas, ping-pong tables, and numerous benches for resting.

The park occupies part of the grounds of the Santa Creu Mental Institute, inaugurated in 1889, designed by architect Josep Oriol Bernadet under the guidance of Dr. Emili Pi i Molist and built for 600 patients. The architects Carme Fiol and Andreu Arriola designed the park, built in three phases: 1997-1999 (77,986 m², inaugurated in 1999), 2000-2003 (88,652 m²) and 2007 (10,615 m²). The former asylum building now houses the Nou Barris district library, council, municipal archive and a Guàrdia Urbana station.

The park serves as a gathering place where residents come together to spend time outdoors and share everyday moments. On weekends, families picnic beneath the trees and groups gather on open areas to play and socialize.

The park is walkable with broad, level pathways that are easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs. Seek shade under the trees during warm days and use the many benches throughout as reference points when moving around.

Part of Barcelona's Dosrius aqueduct crosses the park and now passes over a lake; it formerly spanned the Can Carreras stream and linked Nou Barris with the Horta-Guinardó district. The aqueduct carried water from Dosrius, not from the hills above the city.
