Málaga Park, Mediterranean park in central Málaga, Spain
Málaga Park is a public garden in central Málaga stretching from Plaza de la Marina to Plaza del General Torrijos. It contains diverse tropical and subtropical plants throughout its grounds and features an auditorium in the center for cultural events.
The park was established in 1897 on reclaimed seaside land after an extended construction effort. This transformation of coastal terrain into green space created an important public area for the expanding city.
The park displays sculptures and monuments honoring notable figures like writer Rubén Darío. These artworks reflect Málaga's artistic legacy and invite visitors to connect with local cultural identity.
The park is easily walkable and offers shaded areas throughout for resting and strolling. Visitors should arrive early during warmer months to enjoy the most comfortable conditions.
The park holds a remarkable collection of exotic plant species rarely found elsewhere in Europe. This botanical diversity makes it an important repository for non-native vegetation.

Between the Mediterranean and the Andalusian hills, Malaga blends southern warmth with a thousand-year history. Birthplace of Picasso, it combines Moorish fortresses, Renaissance churches, orange-scented alleys, and avant-garde museums. The Alcazaba overlooks the city from its Moorish walls, the Roman theater recalls its origins, and the Cathedral of the Incarnation connects the centuries. Along the port, the Pompidou Center, contemporary galleries, and subtropical gardens revitalize Andalusian modernity. The stroll is slow, between white light and warm shadows, from the Atarazanas market to the views of Gibralfaro. Malaga is no longer just a seaside stopover: it is a city to explore, to see, and to feel.
