Museo de Málaga, Art and archaeology museum in Málaga, Spain
The Museo de Málaga occupies the restored Palacio de la Aduana and displays a wide collection of paintings, sculptures, and archaeological objects across multiple floors. Both the fine arts and archaeological sections are arranged to show works from different time periods.
The institution was created in 1973 by merging two separate museums and later relocated to its current building. After extensive restoration work, it reopened in 2016.
The collections reflect artistic traditions that developed across different periods in Andalusia. Visitors can observe how various cultural influences shaped the works displayed here.
The building spreads across multiple floors, so wear comfortable shoes and plan enough time to explore all sections. Elevators are available to reach different gallery levels easily.
The museum holds the Hercules Mask, an archaeological piece that reveals Roman influence in the coastal region. This artifact stands out among the collection and attracts visitor interest.
