Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope, Reflecting telescope at Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, Spain.

The Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope stands at 2369 meters elevation with a one-meter primary mirror and an equatorial mounting system for astronomical observations.

Construction of the telescope began in the 1970s through Netherlands and United Kingdom funding, reaching completion in 1983 with first light observation in March 1984.

The telescope carries the name of Dutch astronomer Jacobus Kapteyn and operates within the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias research network on La Palma island.

The telescope functions as a robotic observatory under SARA management, allowing remote operation and providing access to multiple research institutions for astronomical studies.
