Casa Duran

Casa Duran is a Renaissance manor house in Sabadell organized across three distinct levels, each serving different purposes. The ground floor was designed for production activities, the main floor contained living spaces, and the upper level served as storage.

Construction of the house began in 1578 under Feliu Duran, a royal attorney and council member in Sabadell at that time. It was built during a period when prosperous merchants and officials constructed such residences as symbols of their social standing.

The main hall displays Baroque wall paintings from the 18th century that show how artistic preferences changed within the household over time. These decorations reveal the evolving tastes of the people who lived and worked here across generations.

The building contains a private chapel with a Renaissance altarpiece set in an elevated garden area that can be reached from the main floor. A central hall on the ground floor connects the various rooms through a staircase decorated with ornamental tiles.
