Séquia de Favara, Irrigation canal in Valencia, Spain.

Séquia de Favara is an irrigation canal that starts from the Turia River in Quart de Poblet and extends across several municipalities. It divides into two main branches at a distribution point and eventually reaches the rice fields surrounding Albufera lagoon.

The original dam disappeared during the reconstruction of the Turia riverbed in the 1970s. This change led to modifications in the canal's route that remain visible today.

The Water Court of Valencia maintains jurisdiction over the Favara Canal, which represents one of eight traditional irrigation channels in Valencia's agricultural plain.

You can approach the canal from various access points along local roads. It's best to visit during the dry season when water levels are lower and the surrounding paths are more accessible.

The canal benefits from a 10-meter protected zone on both sides of its main branches. This buffer was established to preserve the original structure and the surrounding agricultural landscape.
