Montbaig, Mountain summit in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Spain
Montbaig is a 295-meter summit located between Sant Boi de Llobregat, Viladecans, and Sant Climent de Llobregat in the Baix Llobregat region. This peak can be reached via multiple hiking routes that depart from different locations in the surrounding municipalities.
The mountain was known as Golbes in medieval times before adopting its current name. It has served as a geographical landmark across the Catalonian landscape for many centuries.
The mountain forms part of the prestigious Liste des 100 sommets de la FEEC, representing significant peaks cataloged by the Catalonian Hiking Federation.
Start your hike early in the day or late afternoon to avoid midday heat on the exposed slopes. Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water, as the terrain is steep and rocky throughout.
The entire slope is made of slate, giving the mountain a distinctive gray appearance with varied surface textures. This rocky material becomes increasingly visible as you climb higher on the paths.
