Monte Victoria, Málaga, Mountain summit in eastern Málaga, Spain
Monte Victoria is a natural summit in eastern Málaga that rises about 193 meters above sea level. The site features multiple walking paths and sits within the urban landscape where residents and visitors can access it easily.
The summit took its name from the nearby Sanctuary of Our Lady of Victory, which was an important local religious site. A former chapel dedicated to Saint Christopher once occupied the peak, showing the area's spiritual significance in earlier times.
Local residents have engaged in tree planting and species protection programs here since 2006. These efforts reflect how the community values and cares for this natural space.
The site is reachable via walking paths that begin from different parts of the city, and the climb typically takes about ten minutes. Wearing comfortable shoes and bringing some water is recommended, especially on warm days.
Three letters 'JAC' painted on the slope in the mid-20th century gave this place a special nickname among locals that persists today. The marking remains visible and serves as an interesting landmark for visitors exploring the summit.
