San Carlos Gardens

San Carlos Gardens is a landscaped park in the Old Town featuring diverse tree species from different regions, including ancient elms planted generations ago. The grounds include paved paths, open areas for walking, and several memorial zones integrated throughout the planted spaces.

The site began as a fortification in the 1700s before being transformed into landscaped gardens in the 1830s during a period of urban renewal. This change reflected a broader movement to develop public spaces across the city.
