Castell de les Espases, Medieval castle in Esparreguera, Spain.

The castle features a circular tower and remaining walls following the contours of the rocky formation near the Llobregat River.

The castle, first mentioned in 985, was sold by Count Borrell to Guillemos before being acquired by the Montserrat Monastery in 1351.

The castle includes a chapel with Gothic characteristics and a rectangular apse, which underwent modifications during the sixteenth century.

The site requires proper walking shoes and weather considerations, as it stands on steep cliffs at the convergence of San Feliu and Vich dioceses.

Archaeological remains reveal a Romanesque wall dating to the twelfth century, integrated into the southern section of the current structure.
