The Sanctuary stands on Mount Carmel within a forested park area, featuring red brick walls and a distinctive triangular architectural design.
The original sanctuary, founded in 1860 by hermit Miquel Viladoms, underwent reconstruction and reopened in 1988 after destruction during the Spanish Civil War.
The sanctuary holds special celebrations on July 16th for the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, drawing numerous local worshippers.
Visitors can reach the sanctuary through walking paths from Park Güell or take public transportation to the El Carmel neighborhood.
