Torre de la Carrova

The rectangular stone tower measures 16 by 12 meters and rises 17 meters high, featuring battlements and defensive walls made of limestone blocks.

Built around 1280 during the Christian consolidation period, the tower formed part of a defensive network along the Ebro River monitoring water traffic.

The structure contains three distinct levels including stables on the ground floor and a first floor with a preserved fireplace and bread oven.

The tower lies 4 kilometers north of Amposta and requires private transportation to access due to its rural location near the Ebro River.

Two twin Romanesque windows face north and south, while the original entrance was located on the first floor, accessed by wooden stairs for defensive purposes.
