Tuc dels Tres Comtes, Mountain peak in Ariège, France.
Pic des Trois Comtes is a mountain peak in the French Pyrenees standing at 2626 meters elevation. The summit rises about 62 meters above the surrounding passes and divides several valleys.
The peak takes its name from three historical counties that converged at this exact geographical point. This naming reflects the medieval border divisions that shaped the Pyrenean region.
Shepherds in the area have long used these slopes as summer pastures for their flocks. This pastoral tradition continues to shape how the mountain landscape is used today.
The climb from the Valier parking area involves a technical hike with roughly 1700 meters of elevation gain. The route passes through Col de Barlonguère and is best tackled in stable weather conditions.
A ridge roughly 3.5 kilometers long connects this summit to Pic de Barlonguère and forms the border between France and Spain. Walking this crest offers views down into both French and Spanish valleys on either side.
